Modernizing an Established Community in Bellevue

Excalibur Apartment Package Lockers

The Opportunity

Over the past two decades, Bellevue has become one of the region’s most competitive rental markets. New residential towers, mixed-use developments, and Class A apartment communities have reshaped expectations for apartment living throughout the city. Excalibur Apartments served a different audience.

The goal was not to transform the property into another luxury community. Instead, Epic sought to create a community that appealed to working professionals while feeling more aligned with Bellevue’s evolving character.

Refreshing the Identity

The project began with a new visual identity for the property. A redesigned logo, updated wayfinding system, garage signage, unit identification signage, and package locker graphics created a more cohesive experience throughout the community. Together, these elements helped establish a clearer sense of place while improving navigation and day-to-day functionality for residents.

Modernizing the Community

The visual updates were supported by broader property improvements, including a new exterior paint program that refreshed the property’s appearance and strengthened its presence within the neighborhood.

Rather than chasing luxury trends, the objective was to create a cleaner, more contemporary environment that reflected the expectations of today’s renters while maintaining the property’s approachable position in the market.

Finding the Right Position

Every successful community needs a clear identity to stand out in a crowded market. For Excalibur, that meant offering residents a well-maintained, attractive place to live in Bellevue without losing sight of value. The improvements helped the property present itself more confidently within a rapidly changing market while continuing to serve the residents it was designed for.

The Result

Today, Excalibur presents a more consistent and contemporary image from arrival through move-in. The project demonstrates how targeted improvements, thoughtful branding, and attention to the resident experience can help an established community remain competitive without changing the fundamentals that make it successful.
